MEET THE TEAM

Born and raised in the plains of South Dakota and a passion for the cattle industry that was passed down from his father, Justin grew up showing and selling cattle. He eventually made a career out of it as a herdsman for several operations until landing a position with Deiter Brothers in Faulkton, SD. For over ten years he assumed the responsibility of their show barn operations focusing on Chiangus cattle but also assisted with all aspects of the cattle operation until their dispersal. Justin then began his own operation full time growing the Holt family legacy. Justin and his wife Kali now operate Justin Holt Cattle with their children Charlee, Cooper and Jayden where they are focused on raising Chiangus Breeding Stock and Club Calves. They host their annual Hybrids for Profit Bull and Female sale every April and a club calf sale offering in the fall. The Holt family also attends several shows and sales throughout the year promoting their operation. With many accolades achieved with Holt family genetics, Justin notes that seeing the next generation getting involved and entering the show ring with their genetics by far surpasses them all. Justin’s favorite major is the National Western Stock Show with the rich history both in the yards and on the hill you just cannot find a more historical event for cattlemen. He often reminds his children that their grandfather use to tell the story of unloading show/sale cattle off railcars and into the yards that are now fully remodeled and updated for the changing times.
